A pair of twin girls from american were up for adoption. The agency handling it goofed, and took money from both an american family and a welsh family. The girls came over to wales on tourist visa's. Taking money for adoption (selling babies) is horribly horribly immoral and illegal in this country. To make matters worse, the dissapointed american family (who want the girls they paid for) are threatening to sue.

Why is this news? Because it was all handled over the internet. This makes it worse, in some vague undefined sense.

Well, that was a sparse description, so will wind up with some added points.

• Clearly adoption workers are paid - why is it inherently better to be paid by the state rather than the recipient family?
• The best case the welsh family have is that it would be a horrible abuse of the child if they are not allowed to adopt - after all, selling babies is immoral and illegal, and thus they have a case for asylum.
• Wales. They have computers in wales? Will wonders never cease...
• The 'baby broker' had damn well get their ordering system sorted out - this aint amazon where a two week delay and then getting a different copy is annoying but acceptable, you've only got one set of merchandise...
• The family doing the suing hasn't the tinyest hope of catching the welsh family, but they might get money out of the agency. For no good reason, but settling out of court might shut them up.
• This is blatantly an embarrasment - the girls really should be shipped back, they are illegal immigrants.
• Persecuting romany illegal immigrants is fun. Persecuting cute baby girls is not-fun.
• In other topical news, foxhunting is being voted upon. Re-Legalise badger baiting I say!
• Solve both these problems, throw the little girls to the foxhunters, let the foxhunters all move to Wales to get rid of them and wales, and re-nationalise america, making selling babies illegal.
